Museum of Contemporary Art : San Diego Rebrand
Tasked to Design for Good, we were given the choice to rebrand an existing organization or create one of our own. I chose to rebrand the Museum of Contemporary Art : San Diego with a new take on the current museum's logo. I envisioned a clean but impactful logo that both complements the featured art and allows for interchangeability, reminiscent of contemporary art’s universality.

Logo Redesigned
The current logo utilizes a dated serif font with disproportionate spacing when shown as an acronym. My new logo features a sans serif font with a high level of readability for scaling, as well as a graphic element inspired by Robert Irwin’s installation, 1°, 2°, 3°, & 4°.
Art Applied
This site-specific installation presents three squares cut out within a large panoramic window facing the beaches of La Jolla. The logo I created features one corner of his art piece. Because many individuals attend MCA SD to see this piece, it was important that the logo encapsulates the museum's unique perspective and local beauty.
